Los Angeles psych-rockers Hearty Har—led by brothers Tyler & Shane Fogerty and Will Van Santen—released their latest track “Radio Man ‘56” on September 15th.
“Radio Man ‘56” is my take on the birth of Rock n Roll in the ’50s. The lyrics of the song are about a high school kid who comes into contact with an alien…(who is then) abducted and shown “the way” and feeling of the music. He is abducted by the music if you will. I also wanted (to) invent a new dance move “The Alien” as an homage to the many new dances of the ’50s and ’60s. In order to replicate the sound of early Rock n Roll, I sang into old microphones and pre-amps in a couple takes to get that gritty warm sound.” — Tyler Fogerty
Hearty Har’s “Radio Man ‘56” is an infectious jam from another age, and possibly another dimension.
Listen and dig my friends.
The band is gearing up for their Fall tour that includes dates in California and Nevada. Hearty Har also has tentative plans to release a full length album in 2018.
Be sure to follow the band on Facebook, Instagram, and Spotify!

We do not promote music for pay. Nor do we run intrusive advertisements. We are the resistance to the watered-down mainstream filth that currently pollutes our commercial airwaves. Without you, indie music would be dead and we wouldn’t exist. So, thank you.
