YouTube Exclusive Ft. Lew Phillips | Waldeck | Hotel Life

Lew Phillips – “Shake Baby Shake”

Lew Phillips — a classic rock and roller from Canada — is a masterful conglomeration of American and British Rock and Pop music from the ‘50s and ‘60s.

“Shake Baby Shake” is a radical track off Phillips’ recently released, Shake Music — a nostalgic album infused with rambunctious rockabilly undertones and vibrations from an era now dead and gone.

The up and coming Phillips’ uptempo music makes people want to shake their hips, dance, hoop, holler, and have a grand old time.

And now, without further ado — here is THE Lew Phillips!

Waldeck – “Never Let You Go”

Klaus Waldeck is a Viennese electronica musician. He is widely known for his acclaimed album, Ballroom Stories — an influential prototype of the Electro Swing movement.

“Never Let You Go” off Waldeck’s “Atlantic Ballroom” album, is a jazzy remembrance of a time now obsolete. On the track, Waldeck orchestrates a new and fresh landscape of electronic ballroom brilliance.

As a listener, I hear the immense amount of energy that went into bringing “Atlantic Ballroom” to life — it’s a work of opulent artistry. A transcendental piece of Electro Swing.

Deep within the sonic substructure of “Never Let You Go” there is a sense of upbeat optimism that reminds me of something I haven’t yet experienced. It’s a feeling that I fear will never let me go.

Hotel Life – “There Will Be a Tomorrow”

St. Petersburg, Florida outfit — Hotel Life — is an indie band that fucking kills. Their gorgeous single “There Will Be a Tomorrow” is about a breakup and the reassuring light at the end of a long, dark, and dreadfully dreary tunnel.

The track is a mellowed-out, yet experimental 60’s jangle depicting the inevitable good that will eventually come out of a severed relationship.

As Billy from Stranger Things said: “There’s plenty of bitches in the sea”.

The band is comprised of Captain Joe Harley and backed by another stellar band, Luxury Mane.

The single was recorded at The Ward in St. Petersburg, Florida — in the heat of the Summer of 2018. Enjoy.
