Lucille Furs – Another Land

“Another Land” is the unprecedented neo-nostalgic sound of the Chicago DIY dream-pop subculture — the birthplace of psych-pop quintet, Lucille Furs.

As the band began conjuring up iridescent harmonies and radical vintage harpsichords — it became quite apparent that the jaded misfits wanted to make something different. To create a unique sound they could call all their own.

So, they fell into a deep sleep and dreamed the most beautiful dream…

As they snapped back to reality, one by one, the mangled group of tattered musicians yearned to create something with the essence of their sweaty basement shows, yet with the unbridled illusions of places and moments they had not yet experienced.

“Another Land” — the title track off Lucille Furs upcoming album Requiem Pour Un Twister (out February 15th of this year) is a whimsical take on the quintet’s initial sonic vibrations.

We can’t wait to hear what Lucille Furs has in store for us. And, we will not rest until the prophecy is fulfilled.

Soundcloud Exclusive: Em Lucia | Los Jardines de Bruselas | Dreaming of Islands | Llollyanna

Em Lucia

Em Lucia — an emerging indie artist from the Southwestern metropolis of Phoenix, Arizona — puts it all on the line with her latest quintessential album, Visions.

“Signs” — a track off of the same album — yearns for a love that seems to be ever-slipping from her tired hands.

The track seems to take one back to a simpler time — a time seething with blissful happiness.

The cheerful vocals and bright soundscape whisks one away to a place encumbered with daisies and iridescent roses void of thorns. A place that seems to be quickly fading with the passing of time.

We hope to hear more from Em Lucia very soon.

Los Jardines de Bruselas

Ezequiel de la Parra is the masterful mastermind behind Los Jardines de Bruselas.

He’s a one man DIY bedroom artist from the romantic city of Buenos Aires — an Argentinian of 30 years who finds inspiration in dreams…and sometimes brings them to life through his music.

Parra’s blurry landscapes are riddled with existential metaphors, and the quite bizarre passing of time. A thing that seems to be accelerating with every fading year.

All of his music was and is recorded in his home-studio, which is presently based in Salzburg, Austria.

Dreaming of Islands

Dreaming of Islands is a dream-pop project from Malmo, Sweden.

Synths, massive guitars and dreamy vocals are the main contributing factors propelling the creative genius of Dreaming of Islands forward. It’s a sonic spectacle to behold.

“Silencio” is a whimsical track inspired by the spirit of Christmas — and is a sublime thing that seems to echo with middle-eastern, psychedelic, and kraut vibrations.

Before you drift off into the noxious illusions of the dreamworld — I urge you to give this track a listen, you will not regret it my friend. This, I promise you.

LLOLLYANNA

LLOLLYANNA is an independent garage band based out of New York City dishing up gnarly jams of mythical proportions.

“Down By Design” is a track that seems to be infested with spinning guitars in a tornado of acidic splendour. A sort of methodical dance through the glistening stars.

The soundscape is splendid, and vocals to die for.

If you’re feeling an itch for a chilled out, yet in your face indie rock jam, well then look no further. You’re in the right place. Now, listen and dig my fine friends.

Youtube Exclusive: Mind Shrine | Sun Sap | Luke Paige

Mind Shrine

Mind Shrine is a mixed and muddled up group of indie rockers out of Houston, Texas.

“Sad TV” is a brand new track off of their upcoming EP — that is set to release this Spring in the brand new year of our lord, 2019.

The track is a lo-fi, yet a harmless lackadaisical medley emitting emotions of earnest angst in the midst of a godlike monster.

The music video feels more like a fuzzy dream on a warm summer night than it really does — our lucid reality. We hope to hear more from this radically cool band very soon.

Sun Sap

As Santa Clause and the Christmas spirit fades in the rearview, Sun Sap is off on a beach somewhere getting twisted and pondering upon the deeper intricacies of life.

“Santa… Are You My Real Dad” takes one back to a simpler time — and reminds us all that we’re never too old to just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.

I saw the the pagan season of my generation destroyed — now heathen is just the thing, but the flowering tree that’s really berried — above all others is the holly of holiday spirit.

Are you upset by how baccate it is? Does it tear you apart to see the holly so coniferous?

Our brothers from down under deliver us poetic words of Christmas cheer — in a time when we are becoming more and more detached from the warm nostalgic glow of reality.

Luke Paige

Luke Paige is an artist from New York — working on his second album, Man to God.

His new album reminisces upon the growing pains of love and loss, and the cruel reality of human suffering amidst the lingering question of a higher power, and God.

Visually, the short film is hopelessly inspired by iconoclastic imagery of monotheistic proportions.

The music video was shot in a Gramercy cathedral in the wee hours of the morning. The track is a wonderfully soulful medley concerning the difficult growing pains of love, and the reality of the ever-ticking time bomb.

Only Me – Alpha Wave

Only Me is an alternative lofi project from planet earth — bringing us an experimental indie masterpiece of profound opulence from the depths of a lone broken heart.

“Alpha Wave” — a track off Only Me’s latest album “The Brighter the Sun…” is a lustrous homage to the beauty of the collective conscience. A sonic gem lost in an arid wasteland of plastic splendor and hollow tears.

Only Me spent over nine long years making the album using only vintage analog gear — and zero autotune.

The sound is an honest throwback to all those now dead and gone. A masterful collection of eclectic tracks ranging from indie dream-pop to psychedelic grunge. A transcendental breakthrough in the indie realm.

We hope to hear more from Only Me very soon!

Soundcloud Exclusive: Max C. Joseph | REW<< | Robert Connely Farr & the Rebeltone Boys

Max C. Joseph

Max C. Joseph is an emerging experimental lofi artist out of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Joseph’s latest release is a reflection of tomorrow’s shadow — a hopeful nightmare being smothered by an oppressive force of galactic magnitude.

“Formulate, I” is a track Max wrote some time back while in the depths of a desperate attempt to reset his manic mind. And, it’s absolutely beautiful…

The song is quite simply a divine journey into the inner creative workings of a truly daring explorer — a sonic pioneer of sorts — making his way to the summit of the indie Gods.

As the phoenix rises from the ashes — Max C. Joseph will also rise again and lay upon us sublime vibrations of arcane origin.

We can’t wait to hear what Max has in store for us. One can only dream.

REW<<

REW<< is the moniker of Ryan E. Weber — an experimental artist from the frigid western shores of Lake Michigan.

His track “Figure in Shadow, Figure in Light” off his latest album — Conversation Arctique — is a primitive, yet highly refined and elegant piano piece dripping with subtle drops of magical minimalism.

As one peers into the grey mist of reality’s shadow — one can only hope to pierce the darkness and gaze upon what lies beyond the abyss.

Now rest your weary mind and dream of sweeter things — for life is what you make of it.

Robert Connely Farr & the Rebeltone Boys

Robert Connely Farr is a musician from Bolton, Mississippi — currently resting his hat in Vancouver, BC.

While in Mississippi, Connely met Mississippi blues legend Jimmy “Duck” Holmes — the last of the Bentonia bluesmen. The two hit it off and ever since — Jimmy has been mentoring Connely in the Bentonia Style of the blues, a style that Holmes learned directly from Henry Stuckey — the same man who taught Skip James & Jack Owens.

Connely then teamed up with Canadian producer & acclaimed songwriter Leeroy Stagger to record an album that would eventually become known as — Dirty South Blues.

As Farr attempts to reconcile some of the more controversial elements of his beloved homeland, he must first face his own demon — the demon of loneliness.
